Location People
September 17th, 2008 - September 21st, 2008
Savannah, Georgia
Instructed by Bryan Allen, Craig Tanner

This workshop is designed to dramatically improve the skill sets required to effectively photograph people. With people as the primary subject matter, the workshop will explore lighting in a detailed but down-to-earth manner. We will provide demonstrations and hands on exercises covering a variety of lighting setups for portraiture. We will cover how to achieve desired lighting effects by using natural/ambient light, on and off camera flash systems, studio strobes, and mixed-source lighting. We will also cover light modification tools and techniques. Participants will work with both models and everyday people to improve their technical abilities and explore techniques to increase their overall comfort level and ability to better connect with human subjects. We will cover photographing people in both controlled (studio and interior) and uncontrolled (street and location-based) settings. Whether you want to simply improve your images of friends and family, overcome photographic fears of working with people, or seriously explore portraiture and advance lighting techniques, this workshop is for you. We will provide both individual and group exercises designed for all skill and experience levels and the individual goals of the participants.
