About Mark

I majored in photography in college way back in the early 70's. I was actually all set to attend the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA when love intervened. I married wife #1 in 1974 and together we produced two great boys. But it became apparent right away that I was not going to be able to sustain a 10 roll a week, habit. Not to mention the developer, stop bath and fixer I lived to play with. So I decided, with much difficulty, to sell my sexy Nikon F2 for 1/4 of what I paid for it and went cold turkey into no-photo-rehab. But secretly, I would lay in bed at night dreaming of 11x14 paper and heat activated mounting tissue.

I recently nagged, I mean convinced wife #2 (12 years and one wife at a time) to allow me to buy some older equipment that may not be cutting edge but at least my Nikon D50 and lenses have given me a chance to get my eyes back. So now I'm trying to get up-to-speed on all this new digital tech. Just when the crap did ASA become ISO?
