Hi ! This is my first comment.

First, I'd lke to say how much I appreciate the Radiant Vista, as a concept and as a community. It's very impressive to see the generosity and thoughtfulness of its animators.

Craig's comments on Dave's contribution reached me since I often find myself dealing with ths kind of complex "scenario" where I'm torned between framing large to convey the sense of "being there" and zooming in on what really resonates in there. A larger perspective often catches disorganized vectors while zooming in wipes out the sense of the overall environement.

What I retain form Craig's analysis is first to be patient and scout a lot, then accept to "get wet" to explore unexpected angles of view, and finally "zoom in with a wide angle". I really like that last idea and will certainly use it as a mantra the next time I face this kind of dilemna.

  2. The m4v version link is broken. Says the file is not present.

  3. The M4V / iPod link should be working now. My drag and drop skills are not what they used to be :)

  4. Hi, I just noticed one of my images found it's way into the Daily Critique. I'm excited to hear Craig's comments in the review, but I am not seeing any video links anywhere. Am I missing something? Thanks. -Dave Englund

  5. Judging from Chbar's comments above, I'm guessing Craig suggested narrowing down the subject matter in the image by focusing on a particular area. If so, then that's just what I did. The more time I spent at this location, the more interested I became with particular aspects of the setting. Finally, I ended up using my 70-200mm lens to isolate a section of the creek toward the upper part of this image. You can see the result in this forum posting (http://www.radiantvista.com/community/showpost.php?p=34798&postcount=5). Hope you enjoy! -Dave Englund
