This my second comment for this DC, the first just disappeared. I wish I had done such a good image when I was a beginner. I have not commented lately because I wasn't shooting any pictures. I had sent in a lot of images to a microstock site most of which they rejected, with cryptic and general critiques that I had trouble understanding. Most of them referred to technical problems such as "artifacts", "dull flat colors", "lighting problems" etc. The end result was total paralysis. I couldn't shoot anything because of trying to avoid these problems. So your critiques are a welcome change. BTW I have made $7.86 off those images!
Hi Angela,
Its great to hear from you. I agree with you about this image... its pretty amazing Daniel shot this with a point and shoot.... macro is tedious enough with specialized equipment. Thank you for the kind words about our critiques. Some people say we are too positive here but my personal experience with life is that people grow and blossom when kindness is shared..... so thank you for helping us to do the same!!!...Craig
Brand new member. Have been viewing your critiques often recently & finally joined. I think I will learn much from this site. BTW, I linked here from David Ziser's blog (http://www.digitalprotalk.blogspot.com/) because he spoke highly of your site.
Any chance of listing the equipment that was used to shoot the images you critique. I was even more impressed when I noticed this image was taken with a point & shoot. I liked this particular image, but I really did not know why until you laid it out. Thanks.
I have taken a few macro shots with my wife's Canon SD400 P&S camera. It seems to have pretty good capability in this mode for a P&S. Doug
dear Craig,
thanks for this DC, it was wonderful to once more see you develop the picture. step by step and letting us know, what you did.
I am sad, that 'Jennifer from Massachusetts' hasn't replyed to the gorilla post, since I would like to know about the color of the fur, but that is up to her. I will give her the power of doubt, that she is not able to post her reply yet, but will in the future.
thanks.
I was wondering, is it not possible to show the historgram in the DCs, or is it due to camtasia? or is it that you do not want to interfer with the workbenches? quite a few time, I wish you had pulled the historgam or the pallets over to show a little more.
thanks.
Way to go Graig, I love what you are doing for a long time now. If there are any newcomers who are doubtful I would suggest to them : 'stick around for at least ten more video's and then see and say what you think'.
Again many many thanks for what you and Mark are doing.
Regards,
John Berrevoets
