![]() In contrast to the previous post of Tiger, I offer this photgraph of Phil Mickelson pitching onto the 9th Green at the PGA Championship tournament held at Oakland Hills CC in Detroit, Michigan in August 2008. I feel that this image represents the quiet workmanship by a master of his craft that attracts so many to the legions of golf afficiandos. This image was a NEF file captured on my new D700 with a Nikkor 300mm F/4 lens at f/4, 1/2500 second, on a monopod and processed minimally in PS3. |

Beautiful! An environmental as well as an action shot/portrait. His expression is concentrated, like a good pro's would be. And fantastic that you also got the ball in this image. To get the ball, did you shoot in continuous mode?
A D700 - wow! Congratulations. I'm jealous.

Brian, I liked your image of Tiger and this one as well. I see where you are commenting about the differences. To me, this shot of Mickelson shows how golf is a sport of "aloneness". I always think of golf as so much "in your head" that you are often alone even though you are competing against others.

Thank you Flo and Becky.
Flo - Yes, actually both shots were captured utilizing the motor drive at 5 fps. As to the 700 I was just getting ready to trade up into the 300 when they introduced the FX 700 and I went ahead with that one. brian |
